Job Summary:
A water heater technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and replacing various types of water heaters. The technician must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot water heater problems and provide appropriate solutions to clients.
Responsibilities for the Water Heater Technician:
• Install, repair, and maintain water heaters, including gas, electric, and tankless systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose water heater problems and provide clients with accurate and effective solutions.
• Replace faulty parts or entire systems when necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance on water heaters to prevent future issues. • Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely manner.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Communicate with clients to explain problems, solutions, and costs associated with repairs or replacements.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the job.
• Stay up-to-date on new technologies, products, and techniques related to water heater installation and repair.
• Work independently or as part of a team, as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
Requirements for the Water Heater Technician:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in water heater installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems and codes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
