General Manager
Position Overview
A leading home services company in the Lexington, Kentucky area is seeking a General Manager to lead a large, multi-trade residential services business through its next phase of operational improvement and growth.
This leader will be responsible for restoring operational discipline, strengthening leadership accountability, improving field performance, and driving financial results across a well-established platform offering HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services.
This is a high-impact role for a proven home services operator who knows how to step into a business that needs sharper leadership, stronger execution, and better day-to-day management. What Success Looks Like
In the first 6–12 months, the General Manager will be expected to:

Improve overall operational performance across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical

Stabilize a business that has been underperforming due to weak leadership fit and inconsistent management

Strengthen technician oversight, field productivity, and day-to-day execution

Partner effectively with senior leadership to create a more disciplined and scalable operation

Identify and address operational and marketing issues that are impacting results

Build trust and credibility with an experienced team while raising the performance bar
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Lead day-to-day operations for a large residential home services business across multiple trades

Oversee leadership, performance, and execution across the branch network and field teams

Create stronger operational cadence, structure, and accountability across the business

Drive consistency in technician management, field expectations, service quality, and customer delivery

Identify breakdowns in execution and implement practical solutions quickly

Ensure department leaders are aligned around goals, performance standards, and follow-through
Financial and Business Performance

Own branch-level operational performance and contribute directly to revenue, profitability, and overall business health

Use data and field visibility to identify issues impacting results and take corrective action

Help improve operational efficiency, technician productivity, and margin performance

Support leadership in understanding where the business is underperforming and what actions are needed to improve it

Partner with leadership to build a stronger, more predictable operating model
Team Leadership and Accountability

Lead from the front with clear expectations and high accountability

Coach, develop, and, when necessary, make difficult talent decisions

Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proven home services operator who has the leadership presence and industry experience to step into a sizable branch environment and make an impact quickly.
The right candidate will likely bring:

Experience leading a residential home services business with meaningful scale

Strong operational leadership background in HVAC, with exposure to plumbing and electrical preferred

Experience managing in a multi-location or large branch environment

A track record of improving performance, accountability, and operational consistency

Compensation
Compensation is expected to include:

Base salary around $175,000

Bonus opportunity of approximately 50%
