Position Overview
We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our staff. The individual in this role will be responsible for maintaining and servicing HVAC systems. Experience is required. We are willing to provide additional training. Applicants must be able to operate a motor vehicle and pass pre-employment drug screening.
HVAC Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities

Perform 3-5+ service and repair consultations with customers daily

Determine customer needs and discuss all solution methods

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair current HVAC systems for effectiveness and to meet safety standards

Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity

Conduct performance tests with specialized gauges and troubleshooting tools

Install, repair, or replace various components, including compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, filters, and ductwork.

Interact with customers professionally and courteously, addressing their concerns, explaining repair options, and suggesting system improvements.

Sell ongoing maintenance contracts, new units, and system enhancements to customers

Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, detailing equipment status, repairs conducted, parts utilized, and time allocated for each job.

Remain informed about industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance technical expertise and knowledge.

Travel to job sites on a daily basis as scheduled safely operating a company vehicle
HVAC Service Technician Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC systems

EPA Universal Certification required

Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school preferred

Previous on the job training.

Strong verbal communication and customer service skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues with customers in a way they understand

Critical-thinker, problem-solver

Must hold valid state driver’s license

Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations
Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience
-
Expected hours: 40 per week (55 hours during peak season)

Schedule: Year-round work

The compensation for this position is expected to be a range of $25.00 – $30.00 per hour. This is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.
