Commercial Industrial HVAC Technician

Location: Minster, OH

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile, high-caliber Commercial Industrial HVAC Technician with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team. Operating out of Minster, OH, our work is 100% commercial and industrial, serving facilities within a ~40-mile radius across West Central Ohio.

We are looking for a true, well-rounded troubleshooter—a technician who can fix “just about anything.” Whether it’s servicing heavy chillers, commercial refrigeration, walk-in coolers, or ice machines, you will serve as a key technical problem solver for our commercial clients. If you have a solid service background or are an experienced in-house refrigeration technician looking to transition into field service, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Perform diagnostic inspections, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on 100% commercial and industrial systems.

  • Service and repair chillers, heavy commercial HVAC systems, and commercial refrigeration equipment (walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and restaurant equipment).

  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical failures.

  • Utilize CertainPath field service software daily for job updates, dispatching, work order tracking, and task management.

  • Maintain clear communication with facility managers and business owners regarding equipment status, needed repairs, and maintenance schedules.

  • Operate and maintain a company-provided service vehicle, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts and safety gear.

  • Participate in a light on-call rotation to support emergency commercial service needs.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of hands-on commercial/industrial HVAC service experience. Chiller experience and commercial refrigeration troubleshooting (walk-in coolers, ice machines) strongly preferred.

  • EPA Universal Certification required. OSHA certification is a plus. (Ammonia certification is not required).

  • High mechanical aptitude and a “fix just about anything” mindset across varied commercial equipment.

  • Comfortable using digital work management tools (experience with CertainPath, ServiceTitan, or similar systems).

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR). Candidates must be willing to submit to pre-employment background checks and drug testing.

  • Possession of standard personal trade hand tools (specialty equipment and power tools provided by the company).

What Can We Do for You?

  • $20.00 – $40.00 per hour (commensurate with experience), paid weekly.

  • Discretionary Christmas bonus, year-end company profit-sharing program, and longevity bonuses.

  • Company pays 75% of employee health insurance premiums.

  • Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance coverage provided.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% company match.

  • 40 hours of accrued PTO to start, 2 days of personal time per quarter, plus paid company holidays.

  • Take-home company vehicle provided after initial training, paid uniforms, and a tool reimbursement allowance.

  • 100% commercial/industrial customer base offering consistent year-round hours without residential high-pressure sales expectations.

The base compensation for this position is expected to range between $20.00 – $40.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other characteristic protected by law.

Employee(s) will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments
