Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Residential Service Plumber to join our team in Chicago, IL. We deliver top-tier plumbing services throughout the Chicagoland area by combining high-quality craftsmanship with an exceptional customer experience.

In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and install residential plumbing systems while establishing trust with homeowners. We are looking for a true professional—someone who takes pride in solving complex residential plumbing issues, clearly presents options to customers without high-pressure sales tactics, and operates with high integrity.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installations across residential plumbing systems, including water heaters, fixtures, piping, drain clearing, and sewer lines.

• Perform thorough evaluations on every call, inspect main lines, and present clear, multi-option solutions to homeowners.

• Utilize field management software (ServiceTitan) daily to log job notes, create estimates, track workflows, and process customer receipts.

• Maintain clear, honest communication with homeowners, explaining technical issues in accessible terms and providing transparent pricing.

• Keep company service vehicles clean, fully stocked, organized, and properly maintained.

• Collaborate effectively with dispatch, customer service, and management to maintain daily efficiency.

• Participate in regular team meetings, safety trainings, and ongoing technical development.

• Participate in a shared on-call rotation to address emergency service needs.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in residential plumbing service, troubleshooting, and repair.

• Plumbing license is a major plus

• Strong technical expertise in residential supply/drain systems, water heaters (tank and tankless), rodding/drain cleaning, and pipe repair.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills; coachable, manageable, and committed to delivering honest recommendations.

• Familiarity with digital field service platforms (ServiceTitan experience preferred).

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR), and willingness to complete background checks and drug testing.

• Possession of standard personal hand tools (specialty tools and power equipment provided by the company).

• Competitive base hourly wage of $35-$45 plus performance commissions/spiffs, yielding On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $85,000–$130,000+ annually for top performers.
