Master HVAC Technician

Location: Royse City, TX (Serving Rockwall County & Surrounding Areas)

Job Title: Master HVAC Technician

Compensation: Commission-Based (16% of Sales Revenue) + Separate Master License Lease Agreement ($70,000+ OTE)

Position Overview

Founded in 1994, our client has built a reputation on quality workmanship, high integrity, and a family-first culture. They are seeking a self-motivated, entrepreneurial Master HVAC Technician to lead their residential HVAC operations in Royse City and across Rockwall County.

This is an ideal role for an experienced technician who possesses a strong technical drive—perhaps someone who has operated their own business in the past and loves hands-on field troubleshooting, but prefers to leave the administrative overhead and backend headaches to a trusted team. As the HVAC division grows, this role offers a direct pathway to transition into an HVAC Service Manager, leading and mentoring a team of 2–3 technicians.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, repairs, and system replacements on residential (99%) HVAC systems.

  • Manage and execute service contracts while delivering an exceptional, transparent customer experience.

  • Recommend system upgrades, accessories, and replacement options directly to homeowners.

  • Lease Master HVAC license to the company under a separate, dedicated license agreement.

  • Report to the office daily for morning dispatch and assignment reviews.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked company vehicle and keep track of inventory.

  • Utilize company-provided iPad and field service software to accurately log job details, estimates, and customer records.

  • Participate in weekly Thursday morning team breakfasts, ongoing technical training, and industry expos (CertainPath).

  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation to handle emergency service calls.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas Master HVAC License (Class B license – covering units up to 25 tons).

  • 5+ years of hands-on residential HVAC service and installation experience.

  • Entrepreneurial “go-getter” mindset with strong self-motivation and accountability.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills across standard residential systems (experience with Amana equipment and Standard Supply is a major plus).

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR).

  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.

  • Must reside in or near Rockwall County / Royse City, TX (to ensure a manageable daily commute around local highway construction).

What Can We Do for You?

  • Competitive Compensation: 16% uncapped commission on all generated sales revenue, yielding an On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $70,000+ annually, plus an additional, separate compensation contract for leasing your Master HVAC license.

  • Additional performance-based bonus opportunities.

  • Reliable weekly pay.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to 3% company match through Primerica.

  • 7 paid holidays per year, 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of service, and 2 weeks paid vacation after 3 years.

  • Direct healthcare access via a local primary care physician partnership for routine medical care, plus an optional supplemental emergency care plan.

  • Company service vehicle provided for work hours, plus a company iPad for digital workflow.

  • Convenient payroll deduction program ($25/week) to purchase and upgrade personal trade tools.

  • Supportive, family-oriented environment, weekly team breakfasts every Thursday, ongoing professional development (CertainPath training, trade expos), and leadership growth opportunities into a Service Manager position.
