Plumbing Service Technician

Location:Forest Hill, MD

Work With Your Handz is partnering with a premier, community-oriented residential service contractor in Forest Hill, MD, to find a skilled, customer-focused Plumbing Service Technician.

Built on a foundation of ethics, empathy, and service, this organization takes pride in educating homeowners through an advisory process rather than relying on high-pressure sales or aggressive upselling. If you are an experienced residential service plumber looking for steady year-round work, excellent hourly pay, newer equipment, and a company culture that completely protects your work-life balance with zero mandatory on-call duties, this is the role for you.

The Opportunity

As a Plumbing Service Technician, you will run residential service calls, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing residential plumbing systems across the local community. Each morning, you will report to the shop to review the schedule and stage supplies before heading out in a newer, wrapped take-home fleet vehicle.

You will operate with complete autonomy in the field—diagnosing plumbing issues accurately, presenting transparent repair options to homeowners, and delivering clean, professional repairs. You will be supported by modern systems and an office team dedicated to dispatching efficiently and backing you up on every call.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace residential water lines, drain systems, fixtures, water heaters (tank and tankless), garbage disposals, PRVs, valves, and sump pumps.

  • Guide homeowners through diagnostic findings and present repair solutions transparently using a service-first, advisory approach rather than commissioned push tactics.

  • Conduct thorough testing on all completed repairs to verify system pressure, ensure code compliance, and leave every work area cleaner than you found it.

  • Utilize ServiceTitan on mobile devices for dispatch, documentation, attaching before-and-after photos, creating work orders, and collecting customer sign-offs and payments.

  • Keep assigned company van clean, organized, and adequately stocked with essential parts, fittings, and testing equipment.

  • Adhere strictly to OSHA requirements, personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, and company safety standards on every job.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on residential service and repair plumbing experience.

  • Active Maryland (MD) or Delaware (DE) Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (or recognized state trade credentials).

  • Strong diagnostic abilities across residential piping, fixtures, water heaters, drain troubleshooting, and code requirements.

  • Experience using ServiceTitan is strongly preferred (training is available).

  • Honest, clear communicator with high integrity, strong customer empathy, and a clean professional appearance.

  • Ability to navigate residential service settings (crawl spaces, basements, utility rooms), lift up to 50 lbs., and possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

What Can We Do for You?

  • $30.00 – $38.00+ per hour (paid biweekly, based on skill level and licensing).

  • Regular performance bonuses and spiffs for customer reviews and maintenance agreements

  • Newer wrapped company take-home truck, fully stocked and equipped with a gas card.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match (effective after 90 days).

  • 100% employer-paid life insurance policy

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid company holidays

  • Group health insurance coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Tool Perks & Support:

    • Company tool loans up to $2,000 (repaid conveniently at $50 per paycheck).

    • Free company replacement for broken trade tools.

  • Annual Christmas bonus/party, team outings, and a collaborative, drama-free work environment.

The base compensation for this position is expected to range between $30.00 – $38.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other characteristic protected by law.

Employee(s) will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments.
