The Opportunity

As the Lead Residential HVAC Installer, you will take command of residential changeouts, replacements, and new system installations across Rockland and Bergen Counties. Based out of Pearl River, NY, you will drive a dedicated take-home company truck, manage job-site execution, and lead installations from staging and equipment teardown to final commissioning and homeowner walkthroughs.

You will work on diverse residential heating and cooling systems—including boilers, furnaces, central air systems, and ductless mini-splits. Responsibilities and Expectations

• Install, replace, and commission boilers, furnaces, central AC systems, ductless mini-split units, and complete refrigeration equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local codes.

• Connect, test, and adjust thermostats, humidistats, timers, and related controls; test electrical circuits and components for continuity using electrical test meters.

• Conduct thorough testing and startup inspections following every installation to ensure optimal operating efficiency, airflow, and safety.

• Oversee the delivery, staging, and removal of old equipment and job materials while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.

• Communicate clearly, courteously, and professionally with homeowners to explain new system operations, thermostat setup, and routine maintenance guidelines.

• Complete all installation logs, checklists, and job paperwork neatly and accurately; ensure assigned company vehicle, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.

• Represent the company honestly, ethically, and professionally in all customer interactions and team collaborations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience (preferred 2+ years specifically in residential changeouts).

• Active EPA Universal Certification required.

• Proven ability to install and set split systems, gas/oil furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits.

• Comfortable working in standard residential environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and basements.

• Strong teamwork orientation, dependable work ethic, and clear customer-facing communication skills.

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable record; ability to commute reliably in-person to Pearl River, NY 10965.

The base compensation for this position is expected to range between $28.00 – $40.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.
