Work With Your Handz is partnering with a well-established, premier residential home service provider serving Roanoke and surrounding communities since 1995.

As part of their ongoing strategic growth, this company is seeking an experienced, growth-minded Residential Service Electrician to take ownership of service calls and help elevate their residential electrical division.

The Opportunity

As a Residential Service Electrician, you will run residential service, diagnostic, and installation calls across the greater Roanoke Valley. You will dispatch directly from home most mornings in a fully stocked, modern take-home vehicle equipped with a company gas card.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems, circuits, breakers, lighting, generators, and distribution equipment in accordance with local safety and trade standards.

• Execute hands-on installations and system replacements following closed sales, including panel replacements, subpanels, whole-home surge protection, EV chargers, and service upgrades.

• Perform comprehensive home electrical safety evaluations, diagnose homeowner pain points, and collaborate with the in-house Master Electrician to review and close high-ticket scopes.

• Educate homeowners clearly and professionally on their electrical system health, safety hazards, and available repair/upgrade options.

• Utilize ServiceTitan on company-provided mobile devices to manage daily routes, document job photos, record time, and update customer records.

• Maintain a clean, organized, fully inventoried take-home truck, following established company safety standards, OSHA rules, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, servicing, and installing residential electrical systems (panel replacements, circuit diagnostics, service changeouts).

• Specific individual trade licenses (Journeyman/Master) are welcomed but not strictly required, as qualified technicians work under the company’s master licensing.

• Strong verbal communication skills, self-confidence in professional customer environments, and comfort presenting premium solutions and high-ticket pricing.

• Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar digital dispatch platforms is preferred (paid hands-on training provided).

• Eagerness to expand skills into light commercial work and participate in cross-trade exposure.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record, ability to pass a background check and drug screen, and authorization to work in the U.S. (Open to in-state Virginia candidates willing to relocate to the Roanoke area).

Compensation & Benefits

• Top-of-Market Hourly Base: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour (paid weekly every Friday).

• Earn commission on net sales on turned-over and closed jobs, giving top performers a realistic path to $100,000+ annually.

The base compensation for this position is expected to range between $25.00 – $35.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.
