Tip #10: Keeping your New Year’s Resolution for a NEW JOB

For most people a New Year’s resolution is a vow to change something: an unhealthy lifestyle, not enough self-care, bad relationships, changing jobs, saving money, you get the idea.  If you are one of the many who have vowed to find your dream job in the new year, you are pretty much set for success; it is a job seekers market and there is no end in sight.

But what if you don’t know where to start? What if you are an employer trying to attract the right kind of candidate? How do you navigate all these open jobs, available employees, along with the competition and fast-paced job market we are currently in? We can help. Experienced recruiters, like our staff at Work With Your Handz, work with both the candidates and the companies. We listen to what the hiring managers want in their next employees as well as what the candidates are looking for. We want the placement to be a win-win for both parties. We want their New Year’s Resolutions to be successful and we want you to have the best employees out there.

The question is, do you have a plan to be successful in the new year with your resolution? Why is this year going to be different for you in your quest to find your new job? I am here to help with some great tips for making sure your next job is your last job and that New Year’s Resolution for finding your dream job is successful—the diet and exercise is on you 😉

Before beginning your search, know your goals. What does your dream job look like? Write down what you envision in your next position. Is it more money, a flexible schedule, 401K, PTO, maybe you’re looking for company perks?

Take a look at your list and rank them in order of importance so you know where you have flexibility. Next, you need to figure out which companies you know have a good reputation and could give you what you are looking for.

Don’t feel like you must apply to each job that you see. Not every job is going to be right for you. Do your research and read reviews of the companies you are interested in and write those down. Once you have that done you can really begin your search! Now that you have a list of companies you want to work for you should look on their websites for job openings. Follow them on social media. Comment on their posts if you like them, or feel they are relevant to you. Make them notice you.

On the flip side, as an employer you should take note of who is commenting on your posts. Notice if the same person likes what you are putting out there and then private message them to see if they are looking for a new job.

Once you’ve gotten their attention, that’s the time to put in a resume and start scheduling interviews. It’s a long hard process but if you’ve done your legwork first, you’ll be more likely to have success.

Listen, we know you are putting time, energy and faith into your New Year’s Resolutions. We know how important a job is to you and what it means for you and your family in terms of wealth, happiness, and personal goals. We can help you find the perfect job with the perfect company—or we can help you find the perfect candidate for your perfect job. We work both ways.

We wish you a very Happy New Year and hope that 2022 is the year your New Year’s Resolution of finding a new job/new employees is fruitful.
